We went to see REM last night.
It was absolutely amazing. The band were on top form - it was so much better than the Monster Tour gig. They did stuff from all eras, including a mini-set from Fables of the Reconstruction (basically the first half the album and a couple of new songs - one of which was 'Okay', the other was great.
Hecky also appeared to have a very good time - Candy said it was bopping around to the thrashy stuff. And there was rather a lot of it - they were really Rocking Out last night... We had excellent seats, up on the balony (Neither one of us particularly wanted to be in the crush downstairs - it was hot enough where we were) but right at the front and slightly to stage right. A perfect view of everything.
Got some groovy merchandise - a rather smart top and (the first time I've ever seen this...) a Tour Babygro! Hecky will look ever so cute in it!
When they put it up, I'll put up links to the setlist and to the official pics.

Hiya, I was also at the gig last night, it was the first R.E.M. gig I have been to, and absolutely unforgettable, a wonderful experience!
I was lucky enough to be only about 14 feet away from michael stipes microphone, centre stage, sound was wicked, I was actually stood right behind "calvin" the black guy from Athens who Michael pointed out in the crowd.. lol
Well worth the journey from Plymouth (5 hours there and back in the same day!)
I am looking forward to the photos .... please drop me a mail when you have them???
All the best

We want a picture of the baby-gro! And we aren't prepared to wait until you have a baby to model it!
But what does this merchandising strategy tell us about the average age of REM fans? And what merchandise do the Rolling Stones offer to their fans?
