Doom: The Comic. Read it and weep. And consider that this was published (yes, published) in 1996, ten years after Watchmen. I just hope that it's all a sick, sick joke.

I've just discovered (via the wonder that is Neil Gaiman's Journal) that the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy is returning to Radio 4. This is, of course, reason for much joy and merriment. That said, however, it is an adaptation of Life, the Universe and Everything, which is not one of my favourite Adams books. In fact, after the first two books (the original radio series of which is available from the BBC in MP3 format on a single cd, I think he goes a bit downhill. Still, I'm looking forward to it in a kind of excited way.

By the way - I've just edited this to say: This is the 100th entry on this journal! Hoorah!!! Shouldn't it come with multiple, foil-coated, holographic covers or something?

It looks like we are going on holiday. After a few weeks of 'Yes we are going'/'No, we're not, it's too expensive', it finally looks like it's on.

We're going to be going with Becca and Pat (Candy's sister and her partner) and Phillida (Candy's mom) to a place in Italy called The Garden of Cascaroni. It looks wonderful. And it's here. (Isn't Multimap a wonderful thing?)

We're not going to be going until 10th July and it's still not 100% confirmed yet, but I just thought I'd say.

Another thing - the dentist says to you "How does that feel?" at the end. How the hell am I supposed to know??? My mouth is numb!

I've just come back from the dentist's, having had two fillings (obviously I don't have the Colgate Ring of Confidence!) in my top jaw, one on either side. So the whole of my top jaw (and bottom of my nose) is entirely numb. I assume I look utterly ridiculous. The reason I am telling you this is to come to my observation - that pink liquid that looks exactly the same strength as the blackcurrant juice that Candy has (and has about as much taste)? I'm certain that it is only there to give the dentist a bit of a laugh from the tedium of the day. When he says 'rinse please' and you try to take a drink and spill half of it because you can't close your mouth? Exactly.

Well, at least I could go out now and get into a fight and not feel it if someone smacked me in the mouth. You see? In every cloud...

First time in god-knows how long that I've blogged anything. And it's this:

Yesterday morning, I was awake at 3.30am. Max has a tooth coming through at the moment (his sixth, for those who are counting...) and it's giving him gyp. However, after I got him back to sleep, I couldn't manage the same trick myself. So, in this semi-awake, fairly knackered state, I came up with this:

Considering that 95% of Superman's acquaintances have names with the initial letters 'L.L.', surely this is the best crossover that he could ever have...

Make with the clicking here. I've hidden it so as not to spoil the 'surprise'.

That's what lack of sleep does to me. Don't you think I should set up a Paypal account so you can all pay for Max to have a night nurse, so I don't have to inflict this kind of stuff on the world?
