BOOK DIARY

On these pages, I'm going to talk about the books I'm reading. I have a fairly eclectic taste in books. My main preference is for S.F. and Fantasy, but I read a lot of other things - from Popular Science ('A Brief History Of Time') is fascinating) to Postmodernist novels (for example 'Foucault's Pendulum' by Umberto Eco and 'The Crying Of Lot 49' by Thomas Pynchon) to straight crime novels ('The Scold's Bridle' by Minette Walters.) I also read a lot of comic books and graphic novels. I want to talk about them, but I haven't decided whether or not to give them a seperate section or not.

I would, of course, love to hear your comments, whether it's on a book I've read or not. Actually, I'd rather hear about a book that I haven't read. Eventually, I'll get around to working out how to put a guest book on here, but, until then, please e-mail me with your comments. Thanks.

One of the things that I am going to try to avoid doing is to give the plot away. Of course, this is not completely possible and I will, inevitably, have to give some plot points away. I will do my best not to give away the ending of a book. If I give something away that you feel is completely vital to the plot and destroys any pleasure you may have got from reading it, then I apologise whole-heartedy. I HATE it when that happens as well. If this does happen, can I ask that you e-mail me to let me know and I will remove the offending passage as soon as possible. Thanks.
